M-1 For Veterans Snowflakes
Match: Time: Saturday, January 24, 2009.
The purpose of this match is to raise funds for
disabled veterans who served their country in the
Middle East and Afghanistan. The entry fees will
be donated to a veterans group to fund marksmanship
programs and help with associated expenses. For
more information, click

Dud
Collection Tube: We have a new addition
to our ranges. It is a dud round collection tube.
It is painted yellow and red for easy identification
and is located between the 25 and 50 yard ranges
behind the red shed.
Click on the thumbnail for a larger picture.
If you find an unfired round laying on the ground,
instead of throwing it into the trash can to be
burned, where it can detonate, simply put the unfired
round into the top of the tube where it will be
neutralized by a liquid.
When the tube is full, it will be removed and the
contents will be disposed of properly.
If this works out we may build and install more
at the other ranges.
Black Powder Trap &
Skeet: We have black powder Trap &
Skeet shooting on the 4th Saturday of each month
during the milder seasons. Shooting begins at 1:00
PM. If there are any questions please call the club
house (419-499-2400) and leave a message. Your call
will be returned by one of the black powder staffers
as quickly as possible. Click here
for some photos.
Basic Handgun: Every
second and fourth Mondays we hold these low-key,
one-to-two hour get-togethers, each focusing on
one or two elements of safe firearm handling.
During the summer and fall we will be holding these
classes on the 25 yard firing range. If you do not
have your own firearm there will be a few available
for you to try. Don't forget your eye and ear protection
as we will be doing live fire exercises.
This is not for certification but is an opportunity
to gain confidence and knowledge in a comfortable
atmosphere over a long term and geared to women
and beginners (although everyone is welcome).
If you have a firearm in your home, you should
know how to handle it with respect, not fear - you
may even discover that you enjoy it. With the evening
sun, well take to the firing ranges and youll
be surprised how difficult it is to fire a gun without
smiling.
There is a small donation ($2 for members, $3 for
nonmembers) but the coffee and the nosh are free.
One does not need to be a member to attend these
sessions.
Friends
of ECCL: Donations made to F-ECCL are
tax-deductible and will be used to support programs
like the Jr. Rifle Program, Hunters' Education Classes,
and Youth Tap & Skeet. For more info, click
